Fourth of July

My 4th of July tradition for the last few years has been to go to South Street Seaport. I walk around, buy things from the outside vendors, go into the Seaport Mall, admire the ships: my favorite is named Peking and I pretend I’m going on that ship, on that journey. I observe the people because a Seaport has many people of many nations. This year I won’t follow that tradition because my Seaport is being renovated. The vendors are gone, the mall is closed.
